Terms, Refunds & Disclaimers

What LeaveLetter CA is and isn't

LeaveLetter CA ("we," "us") is an independent, self-help planning service that organizes publicly available California Employment Development Department (EDD) rules around the information you provide. We help you understand and act on your own situation.

We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. We are not a tax or financial advisor. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the California EDD or any government agency. Using this service does not create an attorney–client relationship. For legal questions, a dispute with your employer, or complex circumstances, consult a licensed California employment attorney.

Estimates, not determinations

Any benefit amounts, dates, deadlines, or eligibility statements we provide are estimates based on the information you give us and publicly available EDD data. They are educational and may differ from your actual EDD determination. You are responsible for verifying your eligibility, benefit amounts, and filing deadlines directly with the EDD at edd.ca.gov before acting. We do not file claims on your behalf.

Refund policy

Your purchase is backed by a simple promise: if you are not eligible for the benefits this service addresses, or we determine we cannot build a useful plan for your situation, we will refund you in full. If you're unhappy for any reason, email us at hello@leaveletterca.com within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right or refund you. Refunds are issued to your original payment method via Stripe.

Your responsibilities

The accuracy of your plan depends on the accuracy of the information you provide (dates, employer size, employment situation). You are responsible for submitting your own claims and documents to the EDD and your employer, and for meeting all deadlines. We are not responsible for benefits lost, reduced, or denied due to inaccurate information, your failure to act, or changes in law or EDD processing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeaveLetter CA's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Privacy

We collect only the information needed to build your plan and to process payment (handled securely by Stripe, so we never see your full card details). We do not sell your personal information. We use your details solely to deliver your plan and provide support.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
